Why do I need to know my gift card Balance?
Retailers CANNOT determine the balance of your gift card on their cash registers. If your balance is less than the purchase amount, your transaction will be declined, UNLESS you tell the cashier what your balance is and provide a second form of payment for the remainder of the purchase. Check your balance regularly at www.getmybalance.com.
What if my total purchase is more than the value of my gift card?
Tell the salesperson that you will pay with the balance of your gift card, and pay the remaining balance with another tender. The sales person must process gift card funds as the first portion of the payment, and any additional form of payment.
Does my gift card expire?
Your gift card is valid until the card balance is used up. However, a monthly service charge is incurred on the card balance starting 12 months and one day after the card activation date. See the reverse side of your card for details.
Can I add to my gift card balance?
Unfortunately no. Your gift card is single load card and cannot be loaded with additional funds. However, you can use your remaining balance as payment toward the purchase of a new Southgate Mall gift card.
Can I get a refund or exchange my gift card?
Refunds and exchanges are available for a fee by calling 800-755-8713. Please have your card number available.
How do I keep my gift card secure?
Sign the back of your card upon receipt. Record your gift card number on a separate piece of paper and keep it in a safe location in case the card is lost or stolen.
Can I use my gift card at a restaurant or salon?
Yes, but you may only charge the amount of the goods or services. Gratuity can not be charged on the gift card.
Can I get cash back?
No. The gift card can only be used for goods and services from merchants at Southgate Mall.
Returning a purchase made with your gift card?
Keep your gift card in case you need to return merchandise for credit. Merchandise return and refund policies vary by merchant. If a credit is issued to the gift card, the credit may not be added to the available funds for up to ten business days. To verify if your card credited for the return go to www.getmybalance.com or call 800-755-8713.
Southgate Mall online gift card purchasing and shipping are restricted for those outside of the United States as well as those within Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
